Who we are

Paxauris Inc (“Paxauris”, “we”) is a United States company based in Phoenix, Arizona. We make Fluid™ earplugs and operate this website at https://paxauris.com. For any privacy question or request, contact us at info@paxauris.com.

This policy tells you what personal data we collect, why we collect it, the legal basis for doing so, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.

What we collect and why

Orders and checkout. When you buy from us we collect your name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number, the items you ordered, and your country. Payment card details are handled by our payment processors and never stored by us. We use this data to fulfil your order, arrange delivery, handle taxes and customs (including EU IOSS and UK VAT collected at checkout), and provide warranty service. Legal basis: performance of a contract; legal obligation (tax and customs law).

Crowdfunding backers. If you backed our Kickstarter campaign, we receive your pledge and survey data from Kickstarter and BackerKit — name, email, shipping address, reward selections (size and colour), and your EU/UK delivery preference. We use it to fulfil your rewards and support you afterwards. Legal basis: performance of a contract.

Support and warranty. When you contact support (form or email) we keep the correspondence, your order and delivery details, and any photos you send of the product. We use this to resolve your case, honour the warranty, and — in aggregate — to monitor product quality and improve the product. Support requests may be processed with the assistance of AI services under contract to us; a member of our team reviews and approves responses before they are sent. Legal basis: performance of a contract; legitimate interest in product quality.

Marketing email. We send product news and updates to customers and backers. You can unsubscribe from any email with one click, and we maintain a suppression list so opt-outs stick. Legal basis: consent, or legitimate interest in contacting our existing customers about our products.

Website comments and cookies. If you leave a comment we collect the data in the comment form plus your IP address and browser user-agent for spam detection; an anonymised hash of your email may be checked against the Gravatar service. Optional cookies remember your details for future comments; login cookies apply only to site accounts.

Who we share your data with

We share personal data only with service providers who process it on our instructions, under contract:

Fulfilment and delivery — our shipping platform and the postal/courier carriers who deliver your order (they receive your name, address, phone, and customs data).
Tax compliance — our EU IOSS intermediary, and tax authorities where the law requires (e.g. VAT filings to HMRC — these contain totals, not customer personal data).
Payments — our payment processors e.g. Stripe.
Email and hosting — our website host, email delivery providers, cloud storage, and business software providers.
AI processing — AI service providers that assist with drafting support responses, under contractual limits on the use and retention of your data.

We do not sell personal data, and we never share it for third-party advertising.

Where your data is processed

We are a US company: your data is processed in the United States (and by providers in other countries) with contractual safeguards in place. By ordering from us from the UK or EU, your data is transferred to the US for the purposes above.

How long we keep it

Order and tax records are kept as long as tax law requires (up to 6–10 years depending on jurisdiction). Support cases are kept for the life of the product warranty and for quality analysis. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Comments are kept indefinitely so follow-ups can be approved automatically.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to: access a copy of the personal data we hold about you; correct it; delete it (except what we must keep for legal, tax, or security reasons); receive it in a portable format; object to or restrict certain processing; or withdraw consent to marketing. Write to info@paxauris.com — we respond within one month. If you’re in the UK or EU you also have the right to complain to your data-protection authority (in the UK, the ICO at ico.org.uk).
