Moisture Care for Fluid™ Earplugs
Fluid™ earplugs can help keep your ear canal at a healthy humidity — the glycerin inside absorbs water from a humid ear and sheds it into a dry one. The same exchange happens slowly with the air around them, so in very humid or very dry climates the tips occasionally need a little management. Both effects below are normal, harmless, and easy to reverse — the two-minute video shows each fix.
Tip looks swollen, or hard to insert?
That's moisture absorption — in humid conditions (or after long storage in water) the glycerin inside the tip takes on water and the tip swells. It's normal, harmless and reversible.
The fix: store the inflated earplugs with a 5 g silica gel packet — inside the Premium Case, or in a standard case sealed in a bag. Drying takes one to two days depending on how much moisture was absorbed. If the packet's colour indicator shows it's saturated, regenerate it in the microwave for five to ten minutes on the Defrost setting.

Bubbles in the tip, or a noise when inflating?
Dry environments (or over-drying with silica gel) can draw small air bubbles into the tip. Bubbles don't affect performance — they can just make a little noise when inflating.
The fix: leave the earplugs inflated for an hour or two. If bubbles keep returning, rehydrate by leaving the earplugs inflated in water overnight — but not longer, or the tip will swell (if that happens, dry with silica gel as above).
Finding your routine
The glycerin in Fluid™ earplugs actively manages your ear canal's humidity — absorbing water in a humid ear and shedding it in a dry one. With a little experience you'll find the routine that suits your climate: some people prefer the fit of well-hydrated earplugs and rehydrate overnight once a month; a humid environment might call for storing them with a silica packet regenerated every couple of weeks. Whatever you settle on, your earplugs are working to keep your ears healthy for years to come.
Living somewhere extra humid or dry? The Premium Case is worth considering — it works extremely well at protecting your earplugs in extra humid or dry environments, and with a silica packet inside it keeps them in ideal condition between wears.
