This year, we are introducing three wonderful interns for our 2026 summer internship program! Please welcome Emi, Rachel, and Annika! Emi is our marketing intern and currently leading our socials creating fun content! Rachel and Annika are our engineering interns currently working on making our Fluid™ inflatable earplugs last longer and work better! We asked them two questions:
- What are you currently working on and what do you hope to learn at Paxauris?
- If you were a Paxauris Fluid™ inflatable earplug for a day, what would you be doing?
Emi: I produce creative content for our company and manage our presence on social media platforms. Currently, I am working on educational material targeted at teaching the importance of hearing health and protection to our online audiences. Throughout my internship with Paxauris, I hope to better my understanding of how to make digital spaces a human-first experience so that genuine connections can be built with our clientele and more people can have access to this wonderful product that has improved the lives of so many. I’m so excited and grateful to be here!
If I were a Paxauris Fluid™ inflatable earplug for day, I would inflate and deflate! It’s so satisfying to push down the cap to expand the liquid into the silicone case and pull the tab to reset the shape, and I think an earplug would have fun doing that all day long.
Rachel: I’m working on two tasks with quality testing of the earplugs for moisture management and cap softness, working on the pressure sensor calibration for the hearables, and researching in ear EEGs for a possible future project. Being able to intern at a startup is great because I get exposure to so many aspects of product development and design and through my tasks I’m gaining experience with quality management, hardware, and introducing me to wearable technology which a field I am definitely interested in and out of this internship I hope I learn more about the medical device industry at Paxauris.
If I was a Paxauris Fluid™ inflatable earplug for a day I would definitely be stored in a bedazzled premium case and be used inside of coffee shops for cute study sessions.
Annika: Currently I am working on doing submersion testing for the earplugs. This testing focuses on analyzing the behavior of the earplugs when used at different underwater depths. At Paxauris I hope to continue to learn about what it looks like to work as an engineer at a startup company. I would also like to strengthen my skills in preparing testing plans, carrying out testing procedures, and writing tech memos to document the process. I am already learning so much about the testing process and all that goes into producing a health-centered product, and I am so grateful for this opportunity!
If I were a Paxauris Fluid™ inflatable earplug for a day I would cozy up in a premium case before heading to the pool for a dip with all of my earplug friends.
